Tristan Clearwater is a budding sorcerer with out-of-control magical powers. He visits a rare book dealer and local vampire, Sebastian Gutierrez de Leon, for help in locating a book that combines magic with music. Sebastian’s search leads them both to the seedy underbelly of LA, the local vampire coven, and to England. The coven invites Tristan into their home where he trains under a witch to control his powers. He develops a romance with Sebastian which is complicated when both become attracted to Ash Hartly, an antiquities dealer who magnifies Tristan’s power and works for a demonic corporation. When Tristan learns the corporation is draining the city’s lifeforce, they all must join forces to destroy the power source within. While successful, Xavier, a member of the corporation, manages to abduct Tristan and deliver him to an enemy vampire coven as their prisoner.
